Meal photo analysis
How does meal photo analysis work?
Tap the + button, choose "Photograph a meal" and take a photo of your plate. An AI identifies the foods and estimates portions; calories and macros are then cross-checked against a reference nutrition database (CIQUAL, USDA), and a review screen lets you adjust the portions before adding the meal to your tracking.
Are my meal photos stored?
No. The photo is analyzed on the spot, then deleted immediately. Only the nutritional data (foods, calories, macros) is saved — never the image. Before sending, the photo is downscaled and its metadata (including location) is stripped on your device, and no personal information (name, email) is sent to the AI.
Are the calories and macros reliable?
It's an estimate, not a lab measurement. Reliability is greatly improved because each recognized food is cross-checked against a reference nutrition database rather than trusting the AI's numbers alone. A marker shows, item by item, whether the value comes from the database ("✓ base") or from an estimate ("~ est."), and you can correct everything before saving.
Will it skew my weekly total?
No. If you've already entered your weekly menu (with grams), it stays the priority because it's more precise: a photo isn't added on top unless you tag it as an "extra meal". In a week with no menu, photos count normally. Your calorie total is never inflated by mistake.
What if the AI gets a food wrong?
A review screen appears before saving: you can adjust a quantity, remove a wrongly detected item (cutlery, a glass), rename the dish or change the day. Your corrections improve recognition over time.
Who can use photo analysis?
Full analysis is included with MounjaGO access. Like the rest of the app, it requires an active account.
Security & Privacy
Is my data secure?
Yes. MounjaGO uses AES-256 encryption (military grade). All your data is encrypted on your device before it is ever sent. If you enable cloud backup, data is sent already encrypted. A backup key is kept securely, stored separately from your data, solely to guarantee account recovery if you lose your password.
Where is my data stored?
Your data is stored locally on your device. If you enable cloud backup (optional), an encrypted copy is also stored on secure servers in the European Union (Ireland). Up to 5 backup versions are kept. You can enable or disable cloud backup at any time in Settings.
What happens if I lose my password?
Request a recovery link by email and choose a new password: your data is restored automatically. A backup key is kept securely, encrypted and stored separately from your data, solely to guarantee this recovery. Every restoration is confirmed by email with a "this wasn't me" link that immediately freezes recovery if anything looks wrong. Nothing is ever deleted: if an edge case prevents automatic restoration, our support team can help.
What happens if I change my password?
In Settings > Password, MounjaGO re-encrypts your local data and cloud backup before changing the password, and updates your backup key. After the operation, sign in again with the new password.
Do I have to sign in again after every reload?
On the same browser and device, your session is restored automatically as long as you have not signed out and the session has not expired. An explicit sign-out or two hours of inactivity requires signing in again.
What happens after a refund?
When MounjaGO validates a refund, access to the account is revoked immediately and any active Stripe subscription is cancelled if needed. Contact support if you need to request a refund.
Is the app GDPR compliant?
Yes, MounjaGO is GDPR compliant: data encrypted on your device, encrypted cloud backup, servers hosted in the European Union (Ireland), a backup key kept securely and separately to guarantee recovery, and you keep full control over your data — deletion possible at any time.
Metabolic Calculations
What is BMR?
BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) is the number of calories your body burns at rest to maintain its vital functions. Formula used: Mifflin-St Jeor. Men: BMR = 10 × weight(kg) + 6.25 × height(cm) - 5 × age + 5 Women: BMR = 10 × weight(kg) + 6.25 × height(cm) - 5 × age - 161
What is TDEE?
TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure) is the total number of calories you burn per day, including your basal metabolism, your daily activities and your workouts. Calculation: TDEE = BMR × Activity multiplier Multipliers: - Sedentary: 1.2 - Light: 1.375 - Moderate: 1.55 - Active: 1.725 - Very active: 1.9
How is the calorie target calculated?
For a loss of 0.5 kg per week: - Required deficit: 7700 kcal / 7 days = 550 kcal/day - Calorie target = TDEE - 550 kcal Example: - TDEE = 2200 kcal/day - Target = 2200 - 550 = 1650 kcal/day
Physical Activities
What types of activity can I log?
MounjaGO offers 13 activity types: Slow walking, Brisk walking, Running, Cycling, Swimming, Strength training, Yoga, Dancing, Football, Tennis, HIIT, Climbing, and Other.
How are burned calories calculated?
Calories are calculated with the MET formula: ``` Calories = MET × Weight (kg) × Duration (hours) ``` Example: - Activity: Running (MET = 9.0) - Weight: 80 kg - Duration: 30 minutes (0.5 hour) - Calories = 9.0 × 80 × 0.5 = 360 kcal
What is a MET value?
MET (Metabolic Equivalent of Task) measures the intensity of an activity. 1 MET = energy at rest. The higher the MET, the more intense the activity. Examples: - Yoga: 2.5 MET (light) - Brisk walking: 4.5 MET (moderate) - Running: 9.0 MET (intense) - HIIT: 10.0 MET (very intense)
